Theodore Van Pelt, Jr., 61, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 surrounded by his family.  Born in Princeton, Ted resided in Allentown for many years.  An avid softball player, in his prime Ted played for the Mercer County, Hamilton Twp. and New Egypt Softball leagues, ending his career playing in the Upper Freehold Twp., softball league.  He loved teaching kids to drive and helped many pass their driving tests and was a huge Tom Brady fan.  Ted could often be seen out front or sitting on the porch waving and talking to anyone who came by.

The first male member of the Hope Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Ted enjoyed taking care of his home, yard and his “guys” Bonnie and Clyde.  His greatest love was his wife and daughters who he took great care of and would do anything for them.

Son of the late Theodore Van Pelt Sr., Ted is survived by his mother, Anna Van Pelt; his beloved wife of 35 years, Cindy Van Pelt; his children, Tara Elizabeth and Troy Gonzalez and Roxi (Roco) Van Pelt and her fiancé Thomas Viviano Jr.; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Judy Van Pelt; brother-in-law, George Taylor Jr.; nieces and nephews, Travis, Tyler, Adam, and Ashley Van Pelt, and Jeff Fenton; his special fishing buddy, Charlize Taylor; close friends, Kurt Wayton and Terri and Hodges Bacon; his grandcats, Tiger, Marshall, and Bean and his special four legged friend, Gordon Ramsay Iron Chef.

Ted is also survived by the many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends that he has made over the years.

A viewing will be held Saturday, May 6th from 3-6pm at the Hope Fire Company in Allentown.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Fire Company No 1, 82 Route 526, Allentown, NJ 08501.

Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.

Not sure what to say?

Cindy i am so very sorry to hear of Teds passing. He was a great guy and he will be forever missed. God be with you and the girls at this difficult time. God bless.

Hard to believe tomorrow will be a month since you left. My heart still hurts because you are not here. Days are lonely and the nights are even worse. I love you and miss you so much it hurts.

Ted, My favorite memory of you is how you helped me organize my move to my condo.
I was completely lost, but there you were, helping me and directing me as to where to put my boxes, crates etc...
And thank you for accepting and always showing love to my son Troy, who became part of your family.
Saturday was difficult for me, but I left knowing that Heaven has a new angel, and you will always watch over us, especially Cindy, Tara, Roxanne and Troy...................Rest in...

My very deepest sympathy and condolences to Ted's wife Cindy and daughters Tara & Roxy & family.
