He saved my life in 1958. I had a "meckles" growth that had ruptured, and I was bleeding out. He performed emergency surgery and I survived!!! He even had the surgery filmed so others could learn from his talents. I'm 67 now, and have 3 children, and 6 grandkids.

Dr. Votteler was one of the kindest men, let alone doctors, that I have ever met. I cannot describe how blessed I was to have him as my surgeon. I wish my best for his family and can only hope that others were as touched in their lives as I was.

In November of 1994 our daughter had been very ill, and her pediatrician couldn't diagnose the problem. He scheduled some tests at Children's and we arrived on a Thursday night so they could run a CATscan and an MRI. Even the doctors on duty couldn't decide what the problem was and sent us home. As soon as we arrived at our house the phone was ringing. It was Dr. Votteler telling me to return as soon as possible, this might well be an emergency.
One of the doctors on duty had seen Dr....

In 1970 Dr. Votteler performed surgery on me. Due to his dedication and excellence in the medical field, I am here today to talk about the experience. His judgement to try experimental treatment and commitment to his faith are without doubt the reasons I am still alive. There will never be another person as committed to his patients but I know he is still looking down on all of us and wants us to keep up his excellence in patient care. Thank you to the Votteler family for sharing him with...
