THEODORE STANLEY ZDEB – Efland, NC



Theodore Stanley Zdeb, 85, a devout husband, father and Catholic,


passed away on March 6, 2025, at home in Efland, NC.  He was born to the late Michael and Aniela Zdeb in Hartford, CT, on August 30, 1939.   He attended St. Cyril's Polish Grammar School in Hartford, CT, and later attended St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, CT.  He enlisted in the Army in 1962 and served as an information journalist in the US Army Honor Guard where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.  He then graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BA in Economics and then attended George Washington University. 


Ted worked as a senior buyer and procurement analyst at Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford, CT, from 1965 to 1993.  He then entered Real Estate and retired in 2021 at which time he retired to North Carolina and thoroughly enjoyed his retirement there. 


Ted loved economics, history, finance, church and flavorful food and devoted his entire self to his family.



Ted is survived by his wife, Kathleen Alston Zdeb; his two sons:  Michael Zdeb of North Carolina and David Zdeb of Massachusetts; his two daughters: Christine Zdeb (Jakop) of North Carolina and Nicole Zdeb (Jamie) of Oregon.


He was predeceased by his two brothers Edmund Zdeb and Walter Zdeb, both of Connecticut; and his infant son, Christopher David Zdeb, who is waiting for him in Heaven.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, St. James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill, CT,  06067.  A Military Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, 157 Gilbert Avenue, Rocky Hill, CT  06067.  Visiting hours will be Thursday before the Mass 9:30a.m. – 10:30a.m. at Brooklawn Funeral Home, 511 Brook St, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
