Bradley's Funeral Home & Crematory - Marion Obituary

MARION, VA

Theresa Marie Blevins, 64, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Carrington Place in Wytheville, VA.

Born and raised in Marion, she was the daughter of the late William and Janice Webb Carter. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronnie Blevins, and her brother, Billy Carter. Theresa spent 23 years working as a registered nurse at the SWVA Mental Health Institute, where she poured her heart into caring for others. She was full of life and always on the go—whether cruising the open sea, soaking up the sun at the beach, or laughing until it hurt with her closest friends and dearest family.

But if you knew Theresa, you knew her biggest joy in life was being “Nonnie.” Her grandbabies—June, Thea, and Jameson—were her entire world. She spoiled them every chance she got, from sweet surprises to unforgettable family vacations to Disney World and Hershey Park. She made sure their lives were full of wonder, fun, and love. There truly wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do to brighten their days and fill their hearts.

Theresa is survived by her son Bradley Blevins & Jeanna Anderson; grandchildren June, Thea, and Jameson; brother Steven Carter & wife Alice; sisters Barbara Simpkins and Rose Carter; brother-in-law Gary Blevins; special nephew Josh Carter & wife Jeri and their children Cole & Jaxxon; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Among those who visited often and shared precious time with her in her final days were Rebecca, Charlotte, Lisa, Terri, and others whose presence brought comfort and love.

A celebration of Theresa’s life will be held later this fall. If you'd like to share a memory or send your love, visit the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley’s Funeral Home of Marion is honored to serve the Blevins family.

Not sure what to say?

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

I remember Theresa as a caring nurse and a pleasure to work with at SWVMHI. Her sense of humor was a bright spot in my day and in the days of patients and staff alike.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Theresa Thank you for always being so kind to me you were a Great person to work with. The world seems darker without you

Theresa was one of the best nurses I ever knew & seeing her at work always brightened up my day. She was always so supportive and was always a shoulder to cry on when I needed it. Theresa was one of a kind and her legacy will always be remembered. She is with her beloved husband again and is happier and healthier than ever.❤

My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with Steve and his family at this time. May God give you comfort and know that you will see Theresa again in Heaven.

I wish I could take your pain and grief away for loosing such a sweet person. May God give your family peace and comfort in the days ahead. RIP

Theresa and I had worked side by side since 2010 until she retired last year. I was happy for her to be able to retire. It just wasn't long enough. Life is precious, a gift, but unpredictable. May she rest in peace with Ronnie. Prayers for her family and all that knew her. ❤

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
