Theresa M. "Teddy" (Palomares) Fuentes, 86, a sixth-generation native Californian, passed away peacefully in her Cerritos, CA home following a brief final illness.
Born in 1924 to Robert F. & Bessie M. (Duarte) Palomares, she attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Boyle Heights and graduated from Catholic Girls High School.
A World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy, she was stationed in Washington, DC.
In 1946 she married the late Robert H. "Bob" Fuentes with whom she had 10 children. They made their home in Norwalk, CA, and later Cerritos.
Following the untimely death of her husband in 1976, Teddy went to work at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Downey, CA, as a Sales Representative retiring in 1991 after 15 years.
A devout Catholic and parishoner at Holy Family Church-Artesia, she also served in numerous religious, charitable and business organizations including the Catholic Daughters, Carmelite Nuns Auxiliary and the American Business Women's Association (ABWA).
She was a talented artist, painter, seamstress, baker and decorator.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Bob (1976) and two daughters Mary Carole (1974) and Caroline Bernadette "Buffy" (1984).
She is survived by her children Christina M., Roberta T. "Bobbi" Buescher (James F.), Charles P. "Chuck" (Linda Unruh), Andrea E. Kunkel (Robert C.), Cecelia C., Robert H. III. (Cindy Vetter), Christopher F., and Joseph A. "Joey" (Amy Boothe).
Also 8 grandchildren; Jennifer and Holly Hood, Ryan and Lauren Kunkel, Laurel Frances and Robert H. Fuentes, IV, and twins Mary and Gregory Fuentes; and great-grandson Carson Paul.
Services will be at Holy Family Catholic Church-Artesia with Rosary: Friday at 7:30 P.M. and Funeral Mass: Saturday at 11:30 A.M.
Arrangements: Luyben Family Dilday-Mottell Mortuary, Long Beach, CA.

Lo siento mucho por su perdida. Que bueno es que la Biblia nos da una esperanza tan maravillosa en que nuestros seres queridos puedan volver a vivir otra vez. Esta esperanza Biblica puede ayudarnos aguantar la pena que causa la muerte (Job 14:13-15; Juan 5:28,29). Que Jehová, el Dios que nos da este esperanza, bendice a su familia (2 Corintios 1:3,4).
