Theresa Hamilton

One of the best principals ever. We loved her. Love the ANCIRAs.

I love working with Miss Hamilton at Garfield School. She was a boss, friend, and a strict ruler (Smile). I loved her personality and she always had a beautiful smile.

Mrs. Hamilton is gone but will never be forgotten. No one outside of my immediate family had so profound an influence on my life. We were blessed to know her, and to learn from her.

I had the immense privilege of having Miss Hamilton as my teacher in both 4th and 6th grades. I owe much of my success in engineering, in business, and in life to the lessons I learned in her classroom. Miss Hamilton taught us responsibility, accountability, and discipline, and though she presented a stern persona, I came to understand that her classroom presentation was born of a deep concern for her students, and required tremendous preparation and consistency. To the members of Theresa's family, I offer my sympathy. Her life was a superb example of excellence. She served in several venues and excelled in each one. The Ypsilanti Community has lost another member of an outstanding family who gave so much to the community. May her memory live on.

What a great role model! She was the principal of Cummings when I was in k-4th grade in the 1970s. She was a tough cookie but still knew how to show love and joy. She loved having the brass bands play for us. I know she touched the lives of many! Thank you. You will be missed!

Miss Hamilton was my 4th and 5th grade teacher at Walker Elementary School located in Flint, MI. back in the 60's. She was the best teacher a student could have. She made us learn. She was a role model for all of us back then. With "Deepest Sympathy" to her family. She will be truly missed.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Hamilton. She was my elementary Principal at Cummings in Flint. She was a wonderful person and contributed to the person I have become.
