Theresa M. Young, 81, of Manchester, died peacefully, January 8, 2008 at Catholic Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Young was born in Henniker, July 20, 1926 to Joseph H. and Exilda (Duperron) Damour. She attended local schools and graduated from Henniker High School, class of 1944. She attended the Notre Dame School of Nursing and worked many years as an LPN at Myrtle St. Convalescent Home, the Elliot Hospital and finally Catholic Medical Center for 23 years. She worked as a pharmacy tech at CMC for the last 12 years she worked there until her retirement in 1986.

She was a communicant of St. Raphael Church where she volunteered at their food pantry until she could no longer physically do it. She was a member of the Notre Dame de Lourdes Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association.

Her family was her life and she was always there for them. She was the widow of Bernard L. Young who died in 1994. She was predeceased by a son, Leonard Young in 1947 and a grandson, Scott C. Young in 1976.

Members of her family include 2 sons: Charles K. Young of Bedford, John A. Young, of Manchester, 4 daughters, Elaine Young Follansbee, Ellen I. Anzalone, and Joan M. Mannon of Manchester, and Nancy A. Gallagher of Dunbarton, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, 2 sisters: Irene Fisher of Micco, Florida and Evelyn Bracy of Henniker, many nieces and nephews.

IN HER LIFETIME: Her grandchildren, Jennifer Pimentel, James Gallagher, Jill Korcoulis, Dana Young, Jonathan Anzalone, Amber Bechard, Teri Young, Kevin Mannon and Travis Mannon, and her great grandchildren, Geordi, Reagan and Ethan Pimentel and Hailey Young were her greatest joy.

She was also predeceased by 7 brothers: J. Edward, Paul, Maurice, Donat, Charles, Louis and Raymond Damour and 3 sisters: Alice Fisher, Lillie Gaucher, and Rita Jache.

Calling Hours will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m at the Durning, Bykowski & Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester St., corner of Beech St.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St.. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.

Burial will be in the spring in the New Cemetery, Henniker. Family flowers only, please. Memorial contributions should be made to the St. Raphael Food Pantry, 103 Walker St., Manchester, NH 03102.
