We have lost a great man. My life is better because I was fortunate enough to grow-up next door to Mr. Werkhoven. Well I likely drove him nuts driving my bike by his house making so much noise; he always treated me and my family with respect and affection. A very smart and hard working man whom always had time for others. I will miss talking with him the most, especially about politics. Santina Drive has lost another founding father. Goodbye Mr. Werkhoven. May God be with you.

I will always remember working Uconn basketball games with Terry.One time, we had arrived at about the same time and were walking in together. It was icy and held on to each other. We both went down on the ice together. We laughed about it later. We had many great political discussions as well. I came to realize he was one of the nicest people I had ever met. The world is a better place because of him.
