Thomas A. Syphers, Jr., 53, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. He was born in Kearny, NJ, son of the late Thomas A., Sr. and Carmela (Ingenito) Syphers. Tom served his country in the U.S. Navy, and worked as a carpenter for many years. He was a member of the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, and enjoyed boating, fishing and above all, spending time with his family. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Bertha (Orlicky) Syphers; two children, Johanna Phelps and her husband Paul, and Nathan Syphers and his wife Jillian; four grandchildren, Analia, Natalie, Isabella, and Carmela; 11 siblings, Gina and Denis Durrell, Dennis Syphers and Karen Bull, Gary Syphers, Kenneth and Tracey Syphers, Ronald and Beth Syphers, Kevin and Lisa Syphers, Rosemary Rummel (and the late Robert L. Rummel, Sr.), Cynthia Syphers, Nicholas and Michelle Syphers, Philip Syphers and partner Michael Jeknavorian; and Gail and Von Sisouphone; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Saturday, March 30, 2013 starting at 1 P.M. at the American Legion, 10 Monson Rd., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial in Branch Cemetery, Craftsbury, VT, will be held privately in the Spring. Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post No. 26, 10 Monson Rd., Stafford Springs, CT 06076. To Bertha and The entire Sypher family, Linda and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to you. Your family has had a very rough year and I know you'll go forward. Linda and I were just riding around by Tommy's and Rose's house Wensday and and remminising about the fun times at the 2 homes.You always felt welcome.
