Not sure what to say?

Two weeks ago, my husband says to me out of the blue..."we have to make a point to visit Fr. Ahern when we visit The Bay Area again" (he was the wonderful priest that married Doug and I back in 1992 at Sacred Heart in Saratogo, CA).

I just found out today that Fr. Thomas Ahern passed away and our hearts are deeply saddened.

Fr. Ahern gave my husband a gift, back in 1992 (just before we were married). He gave him the understanding and faith in God's love, the truth about family...

Father Ahern was the priest that I truly looked up to as a child while attending St Victors. He was warm, funny and made understanding my faith easier. He gave me my First Communion, First Confession and came out of retirement to marry my husband and I in 2003. He will be sorely missed and will forever be in my heart. Rest in Peace, Father Ahern.

Fr. Tom baptized my two children and was a great friend of our family.
He was a dear man. He will be missed.

I have many fond memories of Father Ahern walking the playground at Sacred Heart and attending his masses while a student at Sacred Heart. He is wonderful man and will be missed by all who knew him.

Our prayers, love and thoughts are with you. God blessed us greatly with having Father Ahern as pastor of St. Victor's Parish. He will be missed.

I have fond memories of Father Tom during his time at Saint Victor's Church in San Jose. He will be missed.

May he rest with his lord and always have a following breeze.

Dear Paul, Mary, Margaret and Families,
Father Tom will be sorely missed by many during his years of devoted ministry.
Growing up with the Ahern family on 21 Avenue holds many fond memories of a wonderful family.
Rest in peace, Father Tom, it is well deserved!

Children were Father Tom's first love...and he gave so generously to the children of Saint Cyprian Parish in Sunnyvale for many years. He gave of his time, his care and his personal resources. God bless his family and friends who will miss him most. I am sure God's already walking the car lots of heaven letting him select a new, fancy blue car!
