Thomas Applegate Obituary
AGE: 64 • South Toms River
Thomas B. Applegate, 64, of South Toms River, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Lakewood, he was a lifelong resident of South Toms River. Tom was employed by Ocean County Road Department as a Road Supervisor for 42 years. He was an ex-chief and member of Manitou Park Vol. Fire Dept. Station 18 for 44 years.
He was predeceased by his father, Carmen Applegate Sr., in 1983. Surviving are his beloved wife of 31 years, Cathy (Heatley) Applegate; his children, Richard, Julie, Keith, Kevin and Kenny; his mother, Dorothy; two brothers, Richard and Carmen Jr.; a sister, Diane; and his cherished grandchildren, Sammy, Justin, Robert, Johnny, Emily, Keegan and Kayleigh.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 10, witha Fireman's service at 8 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. Relatives and friends may arrive at the funeral home at 11:15 a.m. Monday, April 11 for the procession to Riverside Cemetery.

my brother in law tommy was a great guy,my deepest sympathies to cathy and the family, he sure will be missed but our memories will live on of tommy,

To the family, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. Tom was a one of a kind man, and working with him over the years was an absolute pleasure. He was a great boss, and a man of his word. Work will never be the same without him, and he will be missed very much by anyone who knew him. May God give the family, and friends the confort they need to endure this terrible loss.
