Dr. Thomas Andrew Auten

Andrea and family, I´m so sorry to see Tom had passed. Was thinking about family cousins and wondered if he was still in CA. I hope you are doing ok. Many condolences, Rae Ann Pyles Smith. I am Linda and Tom´s second cousin. When his mom Andre passed everyone came to our house afterward for a meal. We moved to Florida prior to that September.

Tom was a tremendous kid at Wayne HS... a self-made basketball player, and an unselfish one. The guy lifted weights on his own, which was unheard of at our school. He took tremendous care of himself and was in top physical condition at all times. Tom willed himself into a great player at Wayne and Sinclair JUCO. A great FT shooter, clever passer, and a capable scorer-- he was very enjoyable to watch. Condolences to the family.

I grew up across the street from Tom on Blackshear Drive. The last time I saw Tom he was still teaching at Hillel Academy. Sending thoughts and prayers to your family.
