Not sure what to say?

In the 1980´s Tom, although long "exhausted out" of the Ann Arbor Jaycees, always took the time to ensure that the Jaycee standards were being maintained by the next generation. His memory was amazing, his enthusiasm never waned and he could always be counted on to provide encouragement and expertise based on experience without being overboard in any respect. He was a valued and appreciated asset to the group for decades and will be missed by a great many people in Washtenaw County and...

Tom was a much loved member of the MACDC family. Always an interesting conversationalist, and he knew as much history of our organization as anyone. Drain Commissioner´s come and go with the passing of elections every 4 years, but Tom was always there to welcome new members, and to bring them up to speed with the history of our organization. My sincerest condolences to his wife and family! Cindy (Sullivan) Bock Former Newaygo County Drain Commissioner and Past President of the Michigan...

Tom was a good friend, a great activist and knowledgeable on so many areas. He helped create the Allen's Creek Watershed Group to help Ann Abor deal with water quality and flooding issues. He always had great advice and suggestions on fixing what was broke and, had a very deep knowledge on watershed issues that made a real difference in the area and state. Glad he was willing to help in the community and made a real difference.

I was fortunate enough to share a lunch table with Tom and other members of the Jury every Friday at Knights for the better part of the past 5 years or so. When I sought an intellectually stimulating conversation, I could always find it in Tom. I swear he knew everybody and something about almost anything you could think of and spin an elaborate story about it or know where to find it in his massive file of clippings. He was constantly running field trips in his car to explore any newly...

Tom was a good friend and a good raconteur with an endless stock of stories about Ann Arbor's political history. I will be just one of many who will miss seeing and listening to him.

My sympathies to Edie.

ATom and I would meet late afternoon every Sunday at Washtenaw Dairy for coffee and chit-chat. He was a vorcacious reader of newspaper. A walking, talking (smiling) reference guide of Ann Arbor history with tidbits and trivia about local governments & officials "who ran what and when." A loyal Jaycee, Tom was proud of its activities and where his peers now call home. A real "Ann Arbor" person. I will miss him. Uncle Tom, you are loved and missed. We could talk about anything. You knew so much about so many different subjects. I will never forget all the encouragement you gave me, and I can never repay the kindness you showed a scared very young woman away from home for the first time. We had some great laughs about the Ypsi water tower. Thank you, Uncle Tom, I'm so grateful you were a part of my life. Love, Sarah
