Thomas (Tom) Kenneth Boe passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the Dougherty Hospice House from complications of a cardiac arrest.
Tom had a 38-year career at the Argus Leader, beginning in 1970 as an apprentice printer. He was promoted to Production Director in 1985 and he retired in 2008. While working at the Argus Leader, he served on the United Way committee, The Gannett Foundation, and Levitt at the Falls committee.
Tom was born on August 18, 1951, in Yankton, SD. He lived in Fremont, NE and Burlington, IA before moving to Sioux Falls, SD in the 4th grade. Tom graduated from Washington High School and went on to join the Air National Guard, serving from 1970-1976.
He married Pamela (Pam) Nearman on June 2, 1973. Together they raised two children, Amanda (Brooklyn, NY) and Eric (Gilbert, AZ). Tom loved spending time with his family and friends. He was passionate about music, nature, animals, watercolor painting, gardening, golfing, and walking on the bike trails.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Helen, his sister, Lorice, and his brothers, Tim and Marty. He is survived by his wife Pam, daughter Amanda, son Eric (Alicia), granddaughters Amelia and Cora, and brothers Bob (Mary), Jeff (Deb), and David (Veronica).
A private celebration of life is planned. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society on Tom’s behalf would be appreciated.
