Captain Bookout. He gave me my first airplane ride in a Piper Cub in San Benito, Texas in 1939. As a member of a Naval Reserve Fighter Squadron I associated with him at Naval Air Station, Dallas, Texas in the 1950's. I think that the last time I saw him was in the 1970's when, as a Naval Air Transport commander I was able to fly him from NAS Corpus Christi to Nas North Island, San Diego.
