THOMAS "TED" BRASE

THOMAS "TED" BRASE, 85, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at Kingston Care Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Thomas worked as a mill hand for several years and retired from Slater Steel formerly Joslen Steel. He served in the U.S. Army, was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, American Legion Post 499 and United Steel Workers Union. He enjoyed rebuilding tractors, working in the yard and growing tomato's, spending time at Big Long and Hamilton Lakes and winters in Florida. Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years wife, Jacquline Brase of Fort Wayne; daughter, Laura (Dennis) Smith of Hamilton City, Ind.; grandchildren, Christopher, Dawn, Kirsten, and Karla; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Harriet Ottenweller; and a brother, Paul Braze. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret Wells; parents, Clarence and Corrine Brase; and eight brothers. Service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
