Austin was my personal Hero. I admired his abilities but was more impressed with the man I knew him to be! I wanted to be like TOM!! He allowed me to catch for him whe he was getting ready to go to Spring training. He really encouraged me in my athletic career. Belton Laney and I were guests of Austin and was privileged to watch him in a series with the old Washington Senators when we were on our Senior Class trip. I listened to as many games as I could when he was pitching. I visited Fenway...
