Thomas Edward Britt

Tom was a longtime friend of my family. He and I met when he joined the English faculty at the Episcopal High School in Virginia. A frequent guest at our home for years, Tom was one of the kindest and funniest people I've ever known. When I was 11 years old he gave me a subscription to The Village Voice for my birthday; my parents would have been appalled had they ever read it. Thanks to Tom I learned about Jules Feiffer and Andy Warhol and performance art and the underground NY art scene...

Tom, What a lot of fun we had at cello lessons, especially when you would yell at the cello! Rest in peace with music of the cello singing beautifully forever.
