Sad to learn of Tom's passing. But what a life! In addition to his many significant contributions to the consumer movement, broadly perceived, were his warm personality characteristics -- the warm chuckle, the humorous comment, the welcoming smile, and others. He had that rare ability to keep perspective and never took himself too seriously. He will be missed by a broad range of colleagues, former students,and acquaintances across the country and beyond.

What a guy ! He hired a 43 year old mother of 3 who had never taught one day of college and I have been forever grateful. Additionally, he was great to know- kind and fun. A great sense of humor.

Dear Brenda and family, Reading about Tom's life was interesting and a joy. I didn't realize his involvement in the consumer movement to the degree that he was active. What a wonderful and fascinating life he had! Our condolences to all of you.
