Thomas Edward "Tom" Canfield

I've always known Tom as "stargazer" ever since I was a kid. My dad was a close friend of his who worked with him at DDOT. I have many happy memories of Stargazer spending weekends with my family up north in Manton, Michigan at our little cabin on 40 acres. Those were special times for me as I'm sure they were for Tom. Tom was such a happy, engaging and interesting person, always helpful and truly kind. He met more people and made more friends in PA in a few months than most of us do in years. I think all the downtown shopkeepers knew him as a regular, he liked to help us all. If not purchasing something himself, he'd encourage other customers in the store to by complimenting our business and telling them what a great deal they were getting. Tom could converse with anyone and wanted to help everyone. ...

So sorry to hear of your loss, upon returning from out of town! Tom was a kind neighbor and my husband and I enjoyed greeting him when we saw him out walking the dog.
