Not sure what to say?

Sorry these condolences are so late, but I don't spend a lot of time on the Internet, and I just happened upon this on-line obituary today. I attended Roosevelt for just one year (1970-71), and to my great good fortune, it was for the 5th grade, and Mr. Castro was my teacher! Not only was he great in the classroom, he opened me up in many ways. He encouraged me to read the newspaper every day to keep abreast of current events. I began watching the news, and I began listening to the radio....

Still think of you often, Tom!

A fabulous teacher and individual. He was such a kind and fun loving soul. Heaven's productions are all the better with him at the helm. Rest in peace and many thanks for your impact on so many.

A wonderful man both in the classroom and on the stage. I have only fond memories or Mr. Castro.

Mr prayers to Mr Castro's family he was a wonderful teacher I had him for fourth grade in 1978 -79 he always made learning fun

I am saddened to hear the loss of my teacher from fifth grade. He always believed in me and always gave me a chance to shine. I was in one of his plays in Roosevelt School. My deepest sympathy to the family and friends.

... we have lost a very fine man , a great teacher , and an accomplished actor ... " T.C. ," as I liked to refer to him [and call him] was excellent on the stage and in life ...

So many positive memories from Mr. Castro's 5th grade classroom. Energy, art, friendships, laughing...Thank you.

I had the honor of working with Tom in a number of shows. He was a talented and generous gentleman. This is a sad day. Condolences to all.
