Not sure what to say?

Cars and cigars, cars and cigars. In my little world that's what I remember best from being around my Uncle Tom when I was a kid (my memories from then are the ones that stick the most). Whether we were going to see Uncle Tom at Clark-Maple, at one of his stations, or at the house on Warwick, one thing I knew for sure was he'd have a cigar in his mouth and a car within 20 feet.

Uncle Tom was my dad's big brother - something I didn't have. I always watched them together and...

Woman and a Fork

There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live. So, as she was getting her things "in order," she contacted her Pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes.

She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in.

I will always remember my Uncle Tom every time I smell a good Cigar. Thank you for all of the 5 dollar bills at Christmas time at Nana's house. You were a generous man. You will be missed.

A thank you to our friend and good neighbor for touching our lives. The love, attitude and dedication Tom brought to his family and hobbies everyday were inspiring. His presence and spirit have been an unspoken part of our lives and will continue to be. God bless and love always.

Tom & Marley. We'll miss you!

To all who are sharing in our loss: Tom was my big brother too. But in the last years much like a shaman (wise old man) to me. We truly enjoyed swapping jokes and stories, trying to one-up one another. Though we both had/have a loss of hearing, we had no trouble listening and hearing one another. I just recently remarked that looking in the mirror, I saw Tom. That much were we alike. When I was little, if he came home from work and found me crying because Bob was teasing, Tom would say:...

We'll miss you dear neighbor! Love always, Steve & Kate

Living at 1729, I first of all remember Tom as my "Big Brother." He was later to become my "Dad" and "Best Friend."
As a kid, I always tried to guess what kind of nice car he would be driving next. If Tom was driving a Packard,Chevy, or his favorite the Buick(the first car he took apart and put back together), it had to be a good car.

Later in life, it was fun to meet Tom on Wood street to take care of things at 1711-13....fixing and just sitting on the front steps, trimming the...
