Not sure what to say?

I met Tom in 1984. We worked for several years together and remained in touch always. He was a great friend and a great individual. To Stephen, Christian and the entire Chema family, my sincerest condolences. I will never forget him. David Gale

Tom: Tom was a friend and colleague from the moment we met as members of the 1991 Leadership Cleveland class. From the start, he was always ready to lend a hand and be part of the solution. Just a week before, we had lunch at one of his favorite places, the Union Club, to talk about yet another project. That was Tom: always thinking ahead, always ready to contribute. I´ll deeply miss his wonderful spirit, particularly the way he saw the "possible" in every challenge, and the intelligence and...

I knew Tom for over 30 years he was always considerate, kind and caring. Rest in peace Tom. I'll see you later

Tom was so very thoughtful and considerate. And not just to me. He was truly wonderful.

Tom lived in the room next to mine in law school 1968-69. He was one of the most impressive people I ever met. In an intramural touch football game shortly after we met, the other team isolated Tom on me--with very bad consequences for my team.

Christine, Stephen and Chena family members I offer you my sincere condolences on the loss of your dad. He was one of the finest men I´ve ever known and someone I admired and respected above all. I cared about him personally and professionally and appreciate the opportunities he afforded me. I have fond memories of going to Cedar Point with you & Tom where you guys got us on a roller coaster for the first time. His passing leaves a big void in so many lives. I can´t imagine your...

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Chema for the first time just this past December in Zanesville where he was co-presenting with the Mayor of East Liverpool at the America 250 -Ohio Board of Trustees. We talked about his hometown and its significance in the history of the Northwest Territory and the state of Ohio. I am now very grateful for having met Tom and his sharing his love for history and preserving it for future generations.

I just learned of Tom's passing today and wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to his entire family. I had the pleasure of working with Tom during the construction phase of the Gateway project and had just talked with him a few months ago about another upcoming project in Cleveland. Just a very genuine person and someone I truly respected as I was beginning my career in construction. May God now welcome you home.

Tom Chema was truly a renaissance person who found a way to do so much in one lifetime. He was one of the people who found a way to get along with everyone. He led with passion and persistence. Without that, we might not have had gateway. He took on projects that only he could have accomplished because he was creative and had an uncanny way of looking at problems and sollutions so that they were win win. He was a treasure trove of knowledge of people and politics. He gave himself to many...
