Thomas F. Coffey, 83, of Wethersfield, CT beloved husband of Shirley (Martin)
Coffey passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at home in his wife’s
arms and surrounded by his family. Tom was born in Hartford, CT on October 30,
1940 and was the son of Joseph and Rose (Sposito) Coffey. He leaves his brother
Joseph, and predeceased by his brothers Peter, Stephen and James. Tom served his
country honorably in the United States Army which included two years served in
Germany. He was an electrician for IBEW Local 35 for 40 years and enjoyed his
monthly luncheons with his Local 35 friends. Tom was an avid reader, world
traveler, loved history and enjoyed researching his family ancestry.
Tom was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his
wife Shirley of 58 years, they married on October 30, 1965 and daughters Denise
Grieco and her husband Mark, Michelle Bonfiglio and her husband Jim, his son
Thomas and his wife Cheryl and grandchildren Christopher, Samantha and
Zachary Bonfiglio.

A special thank you to the staff at DaVita Dialysis Center especially Dee, Carla,
and Dr. Carley for the excellent care they provided Tom over the years. Calling
hours will be held at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke.,
Wethersfield, Monday, June 17 th from 5 pm to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held
Tuesday, June 18 th at 10 am at Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St.,
Wethersfield. Burial with full military honors will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made in Tom’s memory to Foodshare, 450 Woodland Ave.,
Bloomfield, CT 06002-1342 or to St. Anthony Mission Associates, PO Box 598,
Mt. Vernon, NY 10551-0598.

I did not know Tom personally but wish to express my condolences to Michelle and Jim Bonfiglio and to Shirley and the Coffey family. Timing is never right when it comes to losing a loved one. I hope you will find comfort in all the prayers that are being sent your way. Love and hugs.

So very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He was a great family man and very strong in his faith. Tom knew what was important in life. He was a gentleman who was easy to like and respect.
