Not sure what to say?

Maria and Chris,

Needless to say I was quite surprised when I heard last night of Tom's passing. I will always remember the good times we had when he was Coordinator at the University of Connecticut's Special Student Services. That was my junior year, and real first time away from home. It was quite an eye opener to meet somebody more disabled than myself, who had achieved so much. He was a great inspiration who will never be forgotten.

Sincerely,

Deb Ryder

Maria and family

Our deepest sympathies to you and your family.
The disability community has lost one of its stronngest advocates. Whether it was as Director of the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services or with the Commission on Disability Issues,Tom was a class act. His good humor made difficult situations much easier for those of us that worked with him. He was one of the finest people in the disability field.

Maria,
I was so sad to year of Tom's passing. I will be forever grateful for the love and support that you gave to my parents(Harry and Kate Conte) after my father's accident. You were such an inspiration to them.

Maria & Chris,
I am going to miss Tom so much. I will never forget all the times we shared together. I love you both and you will always be in my hearts. I thank god that he has blessed us with such a gentle soul. I will go on through life remembering all the things that Tom has taught me. I love you Tom and Miss you with all my heart. Thank you for always being there. I am going to miss all the times we have spent together. Love always and forever,
Your "Red Jay"

Dear family of Tom,
I found this way to contact all of you - not the greatest I know but...Learning of his death saddened us. I have lots of memories of family gatherings. So much fun!
I have always thought that Tom was an inspiration to others, he just didn't quit! I told FL patients about him and how he persevered, trying to give them hope and fortitude. Tom accomplished the nearly impossible and I'm very proud of my cousin. Love and prayers to all of you.

Maria and family - I was honored to know Tom as a student at Fairfield U. He was always an inspiration to those of us fortunate enough to listen to his many stories. He's remembered as an upbeat, inspirational student with a wonderful sense of humor. God bless him and your family

Maria and family,
We are all diminished by Tom's passing, just as we have all been enriched by his life. Tom was a great advocate, a brilliant thinker, a gifted writer, an inspiring colleague, an avid listener and an intriguing story-teller. I will miss him and cherish the memories of our work together.

To Tom's family - Very sad to hear of "Tommy's" passing, a name I/we used at Fairfield U. I, with Jack Morrison, lived with and assisted Tom during our senior year ('61-'62). Please accept my deep condolences at this time yet praise for his life-long accomplishments. Chuck Roland
