Mr. Thomas J. Doyle

I met Tom Doyle 29 years ago. Both he and his daughter (Tracy) were customers at the Shell service station where I worked part-time while attending UCF. I was trying to work up the nerve to ask Tracy for a date then one day Tom stopped by for gas. He came to full service, got out of his car and chatted while I took care of him. Tom Doyle was my absolute favorite cousin. His mother(Blanche) and my mother(Dot) were sisters, both born in Phoebus, Virginia.

Tom has been a part of my life since I was about 4. He used to visit Aunt Dot in Hampton when he was in the Navy, and when he was at William & Mary College in Williamsburg.

When I was a teenager, I was in awe of "my cousin, the disc jockey." As an adult, we became sincere friends.

I'll miss him just "being there."

Tom Doyle was one of the most intelligent and truly unique people I have ever known, and I got to know him pretty well over the nearly 15 years we worked together. Simpy put, he was a "great guy." My condolences to Tracy and Chris.

He will be greatly missed. He was a good friend and neighbor.
