Thomas A. La Due

Thomas A. LaDue, 86, of Sherrard, died March 4, 2008 at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. Per his wished, cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be Saturday, March 8, 2008 from 1-4 p.m. at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion. Memorials may be made to the Sherrard Fire and Ambulance Department. Tom was born October 1, 1921 in Tarkio, MO to Samuel P. and Lily (Harris) LaDue. He married Margaret "Ellen" Allen on January 8, 1948 in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on August 24, 2000. Tom was a bus driver for the Sherrard School District. Tom also was a meat cutter at Tindall's Royal Blue in Sherrard and also the bar manager for Don's Tap in Sherrard. Tom was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the South Pacific. He was a member of the VFW Orion Post #143. He also volunteered on the Sherrard Fire Department. He was a former member of the Eagles, Matherville and former member of the Masonic Lodge in Preemption. He enjoyed reading watching T.V. and drinking a few "short" Buds with his friends. He loved to spend time with family and friends. He is survived by Daughters Jane Koob Rock Island Ann LaDue Sherrard Ruth LaDue Sherrard Phyllis LaDue Sherrard Sons David (Nancy) LaDue Sherrard Jason LaDue Boulder, CO Grandchildren Marcy, Barb, T.J., Dena, Nicholas, Sarah and Joe 7 great grandchildren Sister Neecie Larsen He was preceded in death by his wife, son William, daughter Julie LaDue and his brother Barney.
