Thomas D. Dunne Sr. of Westchester, age 81. Beloved husband of Jeanne, nee L’Heureux; loving father of Thomas Jr. (Esmeralda), John and Kevin (Andrea) Dunne; proud grandfather of Thomas III, Sebastian, Benjamin, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Margaret, Clare, Sofia, Collin and Ariana; great-grandfather of Cesar, Effy, Stella, Rebecca and Sabrina; cherished father figure of Thomas and Susan Koprowski and their children, Valentine, Nicholas, Thomas and Jack Koprowski; dear brother of James (MaryJo) Dunne, Patricia (John) Moran and the late Jack (Joan) Dunne. Thomas grew up in the back of the yards neighborhood in Chicago. He would later move to a nicer neighborhood in Chicago at 99th and Washtenaw. He graduated from Mendel High School in 1959. In 1967 he married Jeanie L'Heureux. They moved to Westchester in 1973 to raise their family. Tom was a Marine, a business owner, a real estate investor and most importantly a family man. He started his cleaning business as a side business washing walls with his childhood friend Bill Graf. He would later make cleaning his life's work by adding carpet, furniture, rug and air duck cleaning to his business. Over the years all of his children have worked in the business as well as many of their friends and his grandchildren. Tom was proud he named himself the Top Salesman for Dunne Cleaning for the past 53 years. Tom was a Scout Master for Troop 73 in Westchester for over 10 years and took great pride and joy of helping young boys become men. Tom's hobby was his family, and when he wasn't working he would either be at a school event, softball, wrestling, baseball and soccer games. He always had time to talk and offer advice if asked for. He always had a story or a joke and knew how to have a good time. Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Wednesday 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Divine Infant Church for 10:00 a.m. mass.
