Thomas G. Fleckenstein, loving son, husband, father and grandfather, passed away Monday, March 6th, 2017. He was born on December 8th, 1943 to John Fleckenstein and Regina (Mitchell) Fleckenstein.
Dad loved to tell us stories about his summers spent on his grandparent's farm when he was a child. His grandmother was extremely special to him and we imagine they are happily reunited now. As a young man, Dad and his father shared a love of sports cars. He used to tell us about how they would find great deals and barter with the sales man. As he continued through life, he drove every car like a Ferrari.
Tom married Renee Warlaumont in 1978. His love and loyalty to her showed no bounds. We always talk about what "true love is," and our definition is how dad loved mom. He honestly forgot most important holidays, but treated her like a queen every day.
As a father, dad was quiet, loving, and when he was finally mad, you knew you had really done something wrong. He loved teach us about things from computers to cars, he taught us to drive, and he gave great advice. As a grandfather, he was playful and sweet. He was always excited to spoil his grandkids and to see them smile.
Thomas is preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, father, brothers (John Fleckenstein and William Fleckenstein), Wife (Renee), and Granddaughters (Cara Rich and Hope Gabaldon). He is survived by his daughters Margaret Sughrue (Mike), Elizabeth Graves, Catherine Lambert (Greg), and Erin Larsen (Nick), his son Jarrod Fleckenstein, and 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 S. 2200 W. Riverton, UT on Monday, March 13th, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm. There will be a graveside service Tuesday, March 14th at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery 275 U Street, SLC at 1:00 pm. broomheadfuneralhome.com
