Mr. Thomas I. Folger, 85, of Scotch Plains,N.J. died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at his residence, with his family by his bedside. The funeral is Saturday, Oct. 2, at 8:30 a.m. from the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains. A Mass is at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church, Scotch Plains. Entombment is at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J. Visitation is Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Letters of sympathy can be sent to therossifuneralhome.com. Mr. Folger was born in Jersey City, N.J., and lived for many years in Scotch Plains. He was the divisional sales manager for Schering Plough in Kenilworth, N.J., and after 20 years, retired from the corporation. Mr. Folger was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Scotch Plains VFW Post No. 10122, American Legion Post No. 209 of Scotch Plains, and the Robin Reef Yacht Club in Bayonne, N.J. Mr. Folger was a graduate of Seton Hall with a degree in English. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Gloria Portas Folger; his devoted daughters, Gloria C. LaPara, Cynthia L. Folger, and Valerie S. Heron and her husband, Michael, and five cherished grandchildren, Christine LaPara, Alison and Brian Baldwin, and Thomas G. and Connor P. Heron. We were very sorry to hear of you loss. Tommy was always respected and loved by our family. Dad "Mickey" truly enjoyed the many good times he had with Tommy.
