Columbia, South Carolina - Thomas J. Foy, Jr., 97, passed away peacefully after a very brief illness December 1, 2022 at MUSC Northeast Hospital. Tom was born October 6, 1925 in Charleston, SC to Thomas J. Foy, Sr. and Ethel Purse Foy. He was a WW II Vet and Citadel Graduate. Tom owned and operated WJS Building Services after retiring from C&S Bank in 1978. He sold the business in 2000 and enjoyed retirement to the fullest, playing golf until he was 96 years old. He leaves behind his loving and compassionate wife of 73 years, Nona Willette Snipes Foy, two daughters; Lee Ann Price (Dial), Janice Maureen Dinkel (Don); two sons; Barry, Thomas, III, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his son, Patrick Thomas Foy.
A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. December 13, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home – Devine Street Chapel with a Visitation immediately following from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. December 14, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Additional information can be found at: https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/columbia-sc/thomas-foy-11042300
