Just learned the sad news of Tom's passing. As one of the younger cousins, I always had Tom pointed out to me as someone to emulate. As an adult, I realized what a consummate gentleman and Christian he was. Everyone in the family is in my thoughts and prayers, especially Mary, a consummate gentlewoman and Christian. Mr. Garrity was always kind to me and helpful during my time as a Commissioner in Springfield Township, in the early 90's. Like his son, Jim, Mr. Garrity always was prepared, under-control, and respectful. He set the tone for the entire Board of Commissioners during his many years there.
