GARRITY, Thomas R. Thomas R. Garrity, 69, beloved husband for 50 years of Lillian Loretta (Church) Garrity of Hartford, died Friday, (Sept. 17, 2004). Born in Hartford son of the late Edward and Phyllis (Cappiello) Garrity, lived all of his life in Hartford. Mr. Garrity was employed by the Local Teamster Union #671 prior to his retirement and their former Business Agent. A communicant of St. Luke's Church he was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Southend Athletic Club both of Hartford. His passion for NASCAR racing was carried on by both of his sons, which he enjoyed watching on the race car circuit. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. Besides his wife he leaves his two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas R. and Monica Garrity, Jr. of Colchester, Scott M. and Molly Garrity of Farmington; a daughter and son-in-law, Risa and Robert Berens of Hartford; seven grandchildren, Krista Berens and her fiance Mike Kelly, Michael Berens, Stephanie and Anthony Garrity, Jennie, Savanna and Jake Mazur. Funeral Services will be Monday, 9 a.m. at the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at BROOKLAWN, 511 Brook St., Rocky Hill followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. in St. Luke's Church, Hartford. Internment will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown with full Military Honors. "get the scalzo (sawzall)" It was those funny little things Tom would say that would lighten up the moment. I will always remember Tom hanging out with us helping out when he could and making us laugh when he couldn't and sometimes both at the sametime!!!
