THE REV. THOMAS C. GILLES, age 80, a priest of the Diocese of Cleveland since his ordination in 1967. Passed away September 29, 2022. Son of the late Marie (nee Geiger) and Clarence Gilles; brother of Debra DiVincenzo (deceased) (Richard) and Ruth Bublavy (Joseph); uncle of Daniel, Teri, Joseph and Clare DiVincenzo and Joseph Myles. During his ministry, Fr. Tom served the People of God at St. Matthew (Akron), Holy Trinity (Bedford Hts.), St. Brendan (North Olmsted), St. Vincent Charity Hospital (Cleveland), St. Mary Magdalene (Willowick), Holy Family (Parma), St. Margaret Mary (South Euclid), St. Mary (Chardon), St. John Bosco (Parma Hts.) and Mount Augustine/Regina Health Center (Richfield). Funeral Mass Saturday, October 8, St. John Bosco Church (6480 Pearl Rd., Parma Hts. 44130) at 11 A.M., Most Rev. Martin J. Amos, Principal Celebrant, with one hour visitation prior to Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Vespers Friday, October 7, at 3 P.M., Most. Rev. Edward C. Malesic presiding, at Regina Health Center Chapel (5232 Broadview Rd., Richfield, OH 44286) with visitation following until 5 P.M. Father is now "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" . He is the "Well done good and faithful servant". He will be missed and never forgotten, so kind to our mother and our family at Regina. We'll be glad to see him again in heaven with our precious Lord.

Father Tom was a wonderful friend and servant of our Lord. He was always a blessing to my family during my mother’s time at Regina and the years since. He will be dearly missed and I look forward to meeting him again in heaven one day.

Dear Ruth and family, I lived on West 148th Street and knew Father Tom and the family. I also attended Assumption School. Later, I was a parishioner of St. Brendan's Parish when he was introduced to us as a new priest for our parish. I attended the reception after mass and spoke to him for a few minutes. I had the honor of knowing Fr. Gilles while he was assigned to Holy Trinity and kept in contact with him over the years. A holy priest and and a great man. Truly a Priest in the eyes of Melchizedek.

What a wonderful man! I will miss our talks of days gone by, both our families histories, and exchanging memories of "old" St. Mary's (Assumption) on Brookpark Rd. It was a blessing to know you, Father. Rest in peace Father Tom.
