GIOVANNETTI, Thomas L., of Richmond, died Sunday, October 4, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Annie Giovannetti; and his siblings, Charles Giovannetti, Mary Puzenski, Marguerite Giovannetti, Annie Simmons and Eva Dolak. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ann Schaefer Giovannetti; his son, Tony Giovannetti (Mary); his daughters, Theresa G. Strickland (Tommy), Katie G. Lawton (Brian), Christy G. Owen (Evan); 12 grandchildren; and his sister, Irma Pulley. Tommy was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School, served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, was a retired employee of the federal government with 36 years of service and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 395. He enjoyed a long retirement with his children and grandchildren and volunteered many hours with the children at Our Lady of Lourdes School. His remains rest at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where the family will receive friends Tuesday (today) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Wake and Rosary Service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes School or the Comboni Sisters.
