Not sure what to say?

Mr. Greene visited my son´s fifth grade class in 1993. He taught the students Revolutionary War history. He then gave my son a tour of his historic Greene home.

As mentioned by my sister Lise above, Thomas welcomed a big group of strangers into his house simply because we were Greenes and because he had such a big heart. Although I met him only that one time, I remember his kindness and his vast knowledge of history. It was such a memorable day and I wish I had lived closer to him so I could have gotten to know him better. Rest in peace, Thomas.

In 2014, Greenes from a branch of the family now scattered around the country gathered for a reunion in Warwick. We went to many historical sites associated with our ancestors, including a caravan drive by Forge Farm, which my brother had visited many years before. Thomas came out and warmly welcomed all of us inside the homestead, where he shared fascinating stories and artifacts before leading us on a tour through the grounds and cemetery. We will always be grateful for his hospitality,...

T.C. Greene (circa 1980?)

My husband and I raised our 3 children in the old farmhouse on Forge Road that belongs to the Greene family. Both Tom and his mother encouraged our kids to explore the many acres of forest, field and river. Tom enjoyed teaching them about the various specimen of flora and fauna flourishing therein. We all owe Tom a debt of gratitude for cultivating their abiding curiosity and love of nature. Rest in Peace, Tom.

As a neighbor on Forge Road, I remember the first time I met Tom. I am a regional artist and was so intrigued by the Forge Farm I wanted to ask permission to paint and sketch on the property. I timidly knocked on the door and heard the most lovely music. He was having rehearsal and asked me to come in. Tom was playing the harpsichord along with other musicians. Surrounded by stunning portraits in a house that time stood still while listening to chamber music was a priceless experience. That...

Mr. Greene during one of our long conversations about history and politics.

Thomas Casey Greene, Jr. was an extremely kind and unique man. Accomplished musician, protector of nature, historian, political scholar, brilliant conversationalist, and expert tour guide of his historic home and property. He will be missed by many. Please accept my deepest condolences for your profound loss.

If you had one conversation with Tom in your lifetime you were enriched. I worked and lived on the Forge since my teenage years which evolved into a lifelong friendship. His historical knowledge, wit and wisdom was something I cherished all these years. You will be missed Tom, but never forgotten.
