Not sure what to say?

Tom and Betsy were among my (and are) favorite people. Tom was so funny and so intelligent and made every occasion a great time. He had a great heart as well. I will miss just knowing he he was here on earth but, I know he and my John are having a great time in heaven!

Betsy,
My deepest condolences, to you and your family and friends.
The loss of your beloved husband Tom will be difficult. I pray for peace and comfort during this time.
Sincerely
Your former neighbor from BFW,
Naomi Muyskens

Such a good man and friend. The Grein family became our first neighbors in our new Herndon home. We cherish the memories of those years!

Will, Monica, Tyler, and Brady, I’m so sorry for your loss.

Betsy, Will, Katie and Molly,
It was with such great sadness that we heard about the passing of Tom. He was an incredible friend to our family and we all remember him with deep admiration and fondness.

We will always be grateful for the work that he did with The Observer after Peggy stepped down. He led the paper with unwavering integrity and honored her legacy by keeping high standards of empathetic and honest journalism. His contribution to our little town was...

I remember how on payday at the Journal and Courier we would walk to the bank, cash our checks and get a roll of dimes and go play the pinball games at the pool hall on 5th Street where you could cash out your winnings. I think Tom later graduated to the poker game in the back room. We had some great times, and Tom was one of the most social...

We are left with a life time of happy memories. He was such a great sport. Always a joy to be with. We will miss him terribly.

Tom was such a great supporter of Disability Network and such a mentor to me as the Executive Director at the time. He was kind, wise and funny! I am sorry I did not get to see him.

I’m so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. I was a reporter at The Observer from 1998 to 2002, when he was owner. I remember him as being so positive, energetic, funny, and interesting—just a lot of fun to be around! He lived a wonderfully full life and will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family.
