Byles-Groton Memorial Home - Groton Obituary

Thomas J. Healy Jr. 59, of Groton died early Wednesday morning April 24, 2019 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London. He was born April 2, 1960 in Hartford CT to Nancy Ann Mlinek Healy Murphy and Thomas J. Healy Sr.


Tom attended school at Eastern Point, Sacred Heart, West Side and Robert E. Fitch. He worked as a taxi driver for many years. He resided at the Groton Regency for several years.


Besides his mother Nancy he is survived by brother, Michael Healy of Salem; nephew Michael Healy Jr. and niece Meghan (Michael) McHugh; and dear friend Melony Johnson. He was preceded in death by father Thomas Sr. and his brother Daniel.


A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Saturday May 4, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church in Groton. Burial will be private at St Mary Cemetery in New London. Byles Groton Memorial Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Donations in Tom’s memory can be made to Sacred Heart Church 56 Sacred Heart Drive, Groton, CT 06340.

I will always cherish the Sacred Heart School Days with Tom. He was a friend to All. So glad I got to visit with him in recent months and reminisce. Rest In Peace my friend.
