Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to learn of Tom’s passage. I was aware of his significant medical problems, but he was certainly dealing with them in a forthright manner. It was my pleasure to be involved during the many years with this wonderful family of Tom, Verna, Ty and Holly. My deepest sympathy on the loss of Tom.

Dan Van Thiel, Friend.

Hello Verna,

I was sorry to read of the loss of your Tom. He was a great leader in the industry. Sympathies to you and your family.

As a member of our Sellwood Harbor “family” I loved to talk to Tom. Why? Because he was refreshing and original- a gift of his fine intellect. I respected him and will miss him. Verna of course is a treasure and who doesn’t hear her laugh?? Our love to the family and hope for 2021.Pam and Kent Thies

We were blessed to know Tom as a great neighbor and friend for seven years. Tom--you are missed.

Mike and I met Tom and Verna on a UW sponsored trip to Italy. Everything I read about him in this obituary Described him to a tee...and brought back so many fond memories.
Verna, we are So sorry for your Incredible loss. You two were perfect soul mates surrounded by love. Please express our condolences to your family.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

I served on the Board of American Heritage Association many years ago with Tom. Recently I have enjoyed his Facebook posts. —Betty O’Brien, Salem

From when I first went to work at Portland Mortgage I really felt like Tom reminded me of my son, and I understood his personality and drive. Loved working with him and learning from him. Tom was a superior human being, touching many other lives in a positive way. So proud to have known him.
