Mr. Thomas W. Higginson, 70, of Troy beloved husband of Donna
Higginson died suddenly from an automobile accident on January 2, 2007 in
Coventry. He was born on July 3, 1936 in Ayers Cliff, Quebec a son of the
late William and Mabel (Kelly) Higginson.
On July 14, 1975 he married the former Donna Hosmer who survives him.
Mr. Higginson was a cabinet builder for Ethan Allen MFG in Orleans for 25
years where he retired.
Thomas loved hunting, fishing, league bowling, most of all he loved playing
the Vermont Lottery scratch tickets, eating breakfast sandwiches at the Troy
General Store, special friend his dog Oscar, traveling with his wife Donna to
many different states on the east coast as well as going to Canada. They also
went to many baseball games in Boston, he loved his granchildren
and enjoyed their many visits and took many of them fishing. He was a
proud member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife Donna Higginson of Troy, by his children, Lisa
Higginson of Newport, Rae Lynn Higginson and her fiance Rob of MA,
Michael Higginson and his special friend Erin Robbins of Newport,
Robert Higginson and his wife Mary of Newport, Joseph Higginson, Sr. and
his wife Monique of Morgan, Christopher Higginson and his wife Debbie of
NY, Richard Theriault of Troy, and Pam Uhlendorff and her husband Chris
of Troy, and by 26 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and by a sister
Anna Marotte of Ontario. He was also predeceased by a son in-law Herb
Bailey Sr.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM January 5, 2007 at the
Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home 4670 Darling Hill Road,
Newport with the Rev. Roger Fletcher officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Thursday January 4, 2006 and also from 12-2 PM on Friday January 5, 2006 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport.
