No one in Tom´s family would know any of us. I am one of several childhood friends from Prestonsburg who called Tom, "Squid". We attended elementary school together, played outside on the monkey bars, and attended multiple parties at Jane Osborne´s house with Anne, Beverly, Danny, Eddie, Jr., Lynn S,, Lynn G., Van, Jimbo, and others. We were a close, innocent group of friends learning the basic rules of life before the world tested us on what we had learned. E. Graham

What we will always remember about Tom Hill was his effortless generosity. When we relocated here over ten years ago, Bruce and I met Tom and Barbarie through our grown children. Learning that we were between housing opportunities, Tom and Barbarie offered us their Charlottesville condo completely gratis. We were really only casual acquaintances having an intended move to Charlottesville in common. This act of kindness came easily to Tom and Barbarie - freely sharing what was theirs....

Barbarie and family. I am very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Tom (and Murray Monroe) were key factors in my development as an attorney, and Tom's attention to detail and clients continue to influence me daily. My first case at Taft was an antitrust case with Tom, and I have fond memories of drives to Pikeville with Tom for case conferences, contempt citations for returning to trial late one day from lunch, and a complete victory for our clients (who were kind enough to pay our contempt...
