Thomas Hoey Obituary
AGE: 31 • Sparta
Thomas E. Hoey, 31, of Sparta, NJ, passed away on December 25, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hackensack, NJ and was a 2004 graduate of Sparta High School. Tom was a 2007 graduate of Union County College with a certificate in Paramedicine. He was the Captain of the Sparta Ambulance Squad in 2010. Thomas worked at St Clare's Health System in Denville and University Hospital in Newark before his present job at the Department of Justice, Federal Bareau of Prisons in Fort Dix, NJ.
Thomas is predeceased by his father Ronald. He is survived by his beloved wife Antoinette Maresca Hoey, devoted mother Kathleen Hoey; loving sisters: Andrea Hoey and Melissa Kelly and her husband Joshua; grandmother Theresa Sondej; brother-in-law Albert Maresca and his wife Kelly; mother-in-law Colleen Maresca and fathers-in-law: Timothy and Albert; nephews Aiden and Liam and niece Brigid.
Visitation will be held, Thursday 2-4pm, 7-9pm at St Kateri Church, 427 Stanhope Rd, Sparta, NJ 07871. A funeral mass will be held there 10am Friday. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to: Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundation, 1345 Campus Parkway, Suite A2, Neptune, NJ 07753.

Although we are on Long Island, tragic news travels. We were devastated to hear of Tom's passing. He was such an incredible person adored by everyone! I'm new to Ft. Dix, and only spoke to Hoey a few times, each time I was impressed with his knowledge and kindness. When he married his time keyer I took over his Time and Attendance. He never acted like anyone owed him anything; I envy his courage, and strength. Take care buddy.
