Rev. Thomas Edmund Hosinski

I wish I would have known about dear Fr. Tom's passing sooner and known about his service so I could have attended. He was one of my favorite UP professors. I was hooked on his teachings since I took his Intro to Theology class as a freshman and took his upper level God & the Theological Imagination course. "Tommy" as he was known to me, was a dear friend of our family. I grew up adoring his gentle and funny spirit. He was a dear friend of my Uncle Jeff (Sobosan) as they both studied theology at Notre Dame, entered priesthood and went on to be accomplished Theological Scholars and Professors. Tom Hosinski was a great friend, a brilliant scholar and a kind priest who devoted his life to his community, his academic colleagues, his students and his friends, all of whom will miss him in this dimension. I am blessed to have known him.

Father Tom was a beloved priest, colleague, friend, brother to his community, and uncle. He loved to garden and tended to his perennial flower garden with the utmost of care. He was particularly fond of the "little garden wren who thought she owned his garden", taking care to fill the bird baths with fresh water a couple of times per day.
