Tom Hoving changed my life by opening a door for my first real job for then Congressman Ed Koch - it changed my life. So glad I was able to thank him for that when he was last in Stockbridge, MA. In a word, Thomas Hoving was fun. I worked with him for several years at Connoisseur Magazine, my first job as a New Yorker, and remember him as a full-of-life, somewhat nutty character who never failed to entertain.
