Tom Hoving changed my life by opening a door for my first real job for then Congressman Ed Koch - it changed my life. So glad I was able to thank him for that when he was last in Stockbridge, MA. In a word, Thomas Hoving was fun. I worked with him for several years at Connoisseur Magazine, my first job as a New Yorker, and remember him as a full-of-life, somewhat nutty character who never failed to entertain. I thought he would live forever, just for spite. My heart goes out to Nancy and his family, as his larger than life presence will surely be sorely missed for years to come. Joyce Pendol
