Dr. Thomas Albert Jackson

Dr Tom Jackson initially was the father of my dear friend Lyle. we all lived across the street from each other on Pinehill Road in McLean. but Dr Tom became more of a father figure to me. He seemed to always come down to the basement at the most awkward times of a Blockbuster movie Lyle and I would be watching. He would be so thoughtful and insightful. " Mr. Tom" was my Associate Pastor at First Baptist MD, He and his wife, Ginny were also close family friends. He was a major influence on my brother, and looking back over my own call, probably to me as well. His wife Ginny and my Mom worked together at First National Bank. During the days when they worked, I would "hang out" at the church with Mr. Tom. He touched the lives of so many throughout his ministry. He is among those saints who from their labors rest!

Our family knew "Mr. Tom and Miss Ginny" as they were called in the 60's at First Baptist Church, Baltimore. In church I'd draw pictures of "Miss Ginny" to her delight. The friendships continued at McLean Baptist. Tom and my parents, Irene & Giff Moore, would compete in who could make the better pun while Ginny cooked a fantastic dinner. Tom, driving McLean to Raleigh, married my husband in me even though there was a fuel crisis. Our son took his first steps at Tom and Ginny's place in...
