I am shocked and heartbroken to learn of Tom's demise. I was one of the Whitney faculty to count him as my friend and ally. I felt that we were kindred spirits; passionate about our role as educators, U. of Texas days and liberal politics. Oh, I miss him! May God be with you in the days and weeks ahead, Christy and girls.

Christy,
I am so very sorry for your loss. You and the girls are in my prayers. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

Tom and I have been professional friends for several years. I was his teacher supervisor at Itasca ISD while Tom worked on his education certification at Tarleton.

He was a delight to work know. On several occasions, I asked him to step into my English classroom to read difficult selections aloud. The students and I absolutely loved the way he "did voices" for comic effect or to correctly express pathos in a piece of literature.

Later, Tom took a job at Whitney...

My heart grieves for Mr. Jarrett and his family. I worked with Mr. Jarrett at Whitney High School. He taught 9th grade English, and I teach 9th grade Reading. Our classrooms were next to each other. He always sang in the hall between classes, keeping all of us smiling. He was an incredible mentor to me and an inspiration to his students. He will be greatly missed.

I was blessed to work with Tom at Itasca and go to church with him. He was a wonderful person and one of my daughter's favorite teachers. We are all very sad to hear of his passing. May God bless you, his beloved wife and daughters, and may you be comforted by Jesus' promise that He has prepared a place for Tom and has given him eternal life.

My darling Jarrett family, Tom was what my brother considered his best friend in junior high and high school, and Kelly was there to greet him at the pearly gates! I am sorry to hear of your loss. May God bless you all at this time. You are in my prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughters. South Hills High School Fort Worth Texas
