Not sure what to say?

To all the family and friends of Tom, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I met Tom a couple of years ago on a trip to Jacksonville with my sister, Carolyn Strickland, and my mother, Lucille Skipper. While we were there, I had the privilege of sharing with Tom his routine of "oatmeal for breakfast on Tuesdays". He was a very special person, and I am so glad to have known him. He will be greatly missed.

MIDWAY BATTLE DINNER - JUNE 2, 2007

To Tom's family,
I am so very fortunate to have been a part of Tom's life for so many years, having met and worked with him at American Motors in the late 60s and staying in touch with frequent visits and phone calls for more than thirty-five years. My mother and I were able to share with the family the honoring of Tom at the Battle of Midway Commemoration Event on June 2 and will always cherish the memories of that evening. I will miss my friend so very much, mostly the interesting and...

I had the pleasure of meeting Tom and his wife Lillian a number of years ago while visiting Jacksonville with my friend Carolyn. She was very proud to have seen Tom honored at the recent Commemoration. He will be greatly missed.

Carolyn and I were proud to have shared the Midway ceremony with Tom and family. Through the years he has been a kind, caring friend and I appreciate his being like a father to Carolyn while at American Motors.

Barbara and Brandon join me in sending our sympathy to all of you in your time of sorrow. Tom will be greatly missed by all of us privileged to have known him. God bless you all.

Sandra, Ed & Annette,

One thing I remember most is your Dads Smile and the way he Loved everyone. May you find Peace during this time in knowing that he and your Mom are Reunited.

I was so sadden to hear about Tom.
I worked with Tom for several years at American Motors. He was alway the perfect gentlemen.
I know he will be missed by all.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

The world has lost one of the finest men I know. I cannot say enough about his character. He was a good husband, father and friend.

My heart goes out to all of the family.

Love and best wishes,

Dolores Sapp

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Johnsons during this time of bereavement. John and Annette have talked about Tom so much we feel that we know him. To us, Tom is a "shipmate" and a genuine hero for his service aboard Enterprise.

I was at the Midway Dinner this year and was so honored to be among those heroes. I was so impressed by your loved one, Mr. Johnson, that I feel a personal loss. My father was a Naval Officer at Okinawa, he passed away 3 years ago and I sympathize so much with you. They were such wonderful brave men. Take comfort in knowing they were so special and we and the world are richer for them. Sincerely, Ms. Jana Teehan,
