Not sure what to say?

I had the absolute pleasure of knowing Tom, who I called Dr. J, while he was working with our organization, River Stone Recovery Centre, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. He was doing his post-doctoral work with Dr. Sherry Stewart, and we were lucky enough to have him share his work with us. Dr. J was so bright, insightful, kind, generous, and very funny in a low key kind of way. I just learned of the passing of Thomas who was a post-doctoral fellow with my Mood, Anxiety, and Addiction Comorbidity (MAAC) Lab at Dalhousie University following his PhD in Nursing. I extend my belated and sincere sympathy to Thomas' family for your tremendous loss. Thomas was brilliant, kind, and creative. Tom, You were a good friend, You will be missed, the world needed your unique sense of humor and love of good cola and quality donuts. Your Friend, Devin

At that moment, he enlightened me about the purity of cane sugar in glass bottled Coke versus the high fructose corn syrup in the cans I had been drinking. Thomas, a brilliant young man, became a...

I met Tom when he began the UConn Nursing PhD program and we had many conversations about his work. He had traveled a difficult road but did so with courage and grace. A loss to his family but also to the mental health nursing community and to nursing research.
