My parents thought so much of Tom and were so glad that he and Barbara met. I like to think they're all together now. I remember Tom recorded on a reel-to-reel their first dinner together at Pine Road and played it back to them. They were amazed and amused. To think technology has come so far, yet the common decency they all possessed is so rare. My sincere condolences to all of you.

I came to know Tom in the evenings when the lobby was quiet at Orchard Valley. He would come out, have coffee and visit. He spoke of the love and pride of his children and grandchildren; his career, military service and topics he held dear. I was impressed by his integrity, elegance and honor. I hope you find comfort that your family was together to celebrate his recent birthday. He expressed how much he was looking forward to it, and what a wonderful time he had.
