Not sure what to say?

I, like many others here, thought to look up Tom on google and see how he´s doing only to be met with this sad news of his passing. I enjoyed many fun years of playing tennis with Tom at Aspatuck tennis club in Westhampton Beach NY. To know Tom was to love Tom and I´ll never forget his signature angled backhand overhead that I still see so vividly in my memory of him. Rest in peace good sir!!!

It may be that four years has passed, but I just found the notice that this wonderful man has died. Dr Alfred Pasternak was my doctor in CA and he referred me to Dr Kerenyi when my husband and I moved back to NY. Though he did not deliver my first child we still celebrated his arrival with a fantastic dinner. Dr Kerenyi definitely was there for my second, a girl we named Robin, like his beautiful wife. I am forever grateful for all that he did for me. He life was a blessing to many. Love to...

Tom and I were interns at The Mount Sinai Hospital in the great class of 1960-61. That year he came to his first Passover seder, having lived in Hungary until 1956, when he came to NYC. The seder was at my great aunt's apartment on the Upper West Side and might have been one of his first encounters with traditional Judaism. It is one of my fondest memories of the long lasting, professional acquaintance all the years of his long life.

You will never be forgotten, Dr. Kerenyi. Thank you. I was truly blessed to have you as my very first doctor in New York, and to have you deliver my first-born, barely one month after arriving in the USA to join my husband. May you be in eternal bliss with God.

Doctor Kerenyi was a terrific doctor and a kind and thoughtful man. He is missed.

Tonight, four years later, I learned of the passing of my colleague and friend, Tom Kerenyi. He and I were members of The Mount Sinai's great intern class of July, 1960, 63 years ago. He had just come to NYC, after the brutal Russian invasion of Hungary in 1956. He experienced his first Passover seder at my Aunt's house on the West side. He went on to make great contributions to his chosen field of interventional obstetrics. Always a European gentleman, active in body and mind, and...

I was greatly saddened to learn only today of Dr. Kerenyi´s passing. I was texting my two adult children and reminiscing that today was the day my daughter ( first child) was supposed to have been born 46 years ago, but she arrived twelve days early on March 8. That made me think of Dr. Kerenyi who delivered her at Mount Sinai in NY, so I googled his name only to come across his obituary. My heart goes out to his family and I grieve that he is no more. I´ve thought of him so often over the...

I just learned of his passing yesterday. I am an Ob/Gyn and worked with Dr. Kerenyi at Mt. Sinai Hospital for a few years when I was a junior attending. He was truly an exceptional clinician in our field. He is a huge loss in the Ob/Gyn specialty. My thoughts and prayers to his family. Stephen M. Gallousis, MD, FACOG

I was blessed to have Thomas Kerenyi as my doctor for about 30 years...until I moved out of NYC. He was THE BEST. I just took his memoir, ICE CHIPS, out to re-read it & googled his name in the hopes of calling him to say hi & catch up. To his family & friends, my heartfelt sympathies. He was a special doctor and human being. RIP Dr. K and so many thanks for everything.
